A Candid Conversation: Interview With The CEO
During a recent visit to our South District sites, Hope Services’ Interim CEO, Aila Malik, experienced firsthand the warmth, curiosity, and engagement of our community. While touring the Employment, Media, and Community Connections (EMCC) program, she was delighted when participants pulled her aside for an impromptu interview, eager to learn more about her leadership and vision for Hope Services.
A cornerstone of Hope Services, EMCC provides a diverse array of interest-based activities designed to support individuals with varying levels of mobility, self-care needs, and medical requirements. The program fosters independence, creativity, and social connection, offering participants meaningful opportunities to explore hobbies, build relationships, and develop essential life skills.
Among those eager to connect with Aila was EMCC participant Irvin R., who took the lead in a thoughtful and engaging conversation. He asked about her career journey, what it’s like to be a female CEO, and her vision for both staff and program participants. Their discussion highlighted the importance of client voices in shaping the future of Hope Services, reinforcing Aila’s commitment to fostering an inclusive, participant-centered approach.
The exchange was a powerful reminder of why Hope Services exists—to uplift, empower, and create spaces where every individual is heard and valued. Aila left the visit inspired, carrying with her the insights and enthusiasm of those at EMCC who make our mission come to life every day.
