Celebrating Occupational Therapist Month
April is Occupational Therapy (OT) Month, a time to raise awareness about the OT profession, celebrate the achievements of occupational therapists, and highlight the profound impact they have on the lives of their clients. This year’s theme, “Inspiring Hope, Changing Lives,” is especially meaningful to us at Hope Services!
OT Month is also an opportunity to celebrate our very own OTs at Children and Family Services (CFS)—Alexis, Atty, Alison, Diane, and Gigi—who make an incredible difference in the lives of their clients through their compassionate and caring approach to adaptive/self-care, fine motor skills, and sensory development.
Our OTs support families with their fine motor and adaptive development – skills like holding and manipulating toys, scribbling and drawing, feeding themselves, dressing, and so much more – and our multi-disciplinary team through consultation and training. They may address and help a family understand sensory motor and regulatory concerns that impact their child’s development and may help families to advocate for and pursue durable medical equipment or medical intervention, like feeding therapy, when needed. During April and throughout the year, CFS is proud to celebrate Alexis, Atty, Alison, Diane, and Gigi and the expertise, knowledge, and thoughtfulness they bring to our team and the families that we work with!
Happy OT Month!
