Tara Beckman joins the Hope Services family as new Chief Program Officer; overseeing all programs and driving the exploration of new programmatic opportunities.

“Tara’s experience providing guidance, assessment and treatment to diverse patient populations, combined with her ability to manage programs and build alliances will allow her to make significant contributions,” note Chip Huggins, President/CEO.

Beckman, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), has more than 17 years of experience directing and developing programs that provide a wide range of comprehensive services to diverse populations. These include increasing access to supportive services, improving service delivery, enhancing quality of care, and overseeing programs that improve the overall health and well-being of individuals and families. She brings to Hope Services extensive experience in program management and redesign, project planning and execution, in addition to organizational, training and leadership development.

She previously worked as the Regional Executive Director at Caminar in San Mateo County, an organization that delivers prevention, treatment and recovery services to clients with complex mental health, substance use and co-occurring needs. Beckman was responsible for the oversight, implementation and expansion of programs and services including case management, residential, transitional housing, a medication clinic and supported education program. She has also been committed to serving her community with 14 years of volunteerism as a Court Appointed Special Advocate working with children and youths.

Beckman hopes to use her experience and skills to continue to help improve the quality of life for people with developmental disabilities and co-occurring mental health needs. She is dedicated to ensuring that every family and child has equitable access to the employment, educational, mental health, medical, and community supports they need and deserve.

Tara is a graduate of the University of Memphis and earned her Master of Social Work, with an emphasis in Community Mental Health, from California State University, East Bay. She also received a Mediation certification from Steven Rosenberg Mediation Center in 2018.
