HopeSTUDIO, Hope’s center for weaving and textile creation, received an unexpected and generous gift of yarn from local business owners Kaye and Sand Luck after a chance connection April (HopeSTUDIO Facilitator) made with the donors at a local event months prior. When it came time to let go of some extra yarn after closing their business, Kaye & Sand, along with their sister Cynthia, remembered April and her weaving students as the perfect cause.
Kaye and Cynthia brought their donation to HopeSTUDIO and met with April, who gave them a tour of the studio and shared about the value of the program for the individuals it serves. They were so encouraged by the stories of HopeSTUDIO clients and the amazing work they saw on the looms that Kaye and Sand planned to further support the program with ongoing mentorship, to help introduce new techniques for the weavers to try! Thank you to the Luck family for your heartfelt donation of knowledge, material, and time in support of our clients and this growing program!
“As I began opening boxes, I was completely shocked at the extent and value of the items inside. I started keeping a tally and calculated about $23,700 worth of yarn. I can’t even begin to tell you how much my clients and I appreciate your support of this program. Your gift is going to such an amazing group of people to be used in the act of creating, as well as helping them to be employed. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.” – Aprl
